Abstract
An efficient continuous-wave Cr2+:ZnSe laser pumped by high power GaSb laser diodes was presented. The beam of the laser diode was collimated by a spherical and cylindrical lens and focussed by a 45 mm achromatic lens into Cr2+:ZnSe crystal. Output power of 105 mW and slope efficiency of 35% were obtained with respect to the absorbed pump power. The laser threshold pump power varied between 45 mW and 77 mW and the variation depended on mirror transmission.
