Recent applications of environmental test tailoring in Germany

Evironmental test tailoring as implemented with publication of Mil 810 D is primarily a philosophy or a paradigma. Theoretically it will be well accepted by most people who are engaged in the environmental engineering business. In practice there is a gap between this acceptance and its application. This gap has several reasons: lack of knowledge, convenience and some real problems as for example the availability of life-cycle-profiles, changes of platforms or the working-out of contracts. But tailoring offers a great opportunity to qualify products in a proper manner at overall reduced costs.
