Fatigue behaviour of screwed sintered materials with different strength and heat treatment
Abstract
For the design of screwed components, data on static pull-out and fatigue behaviour are necessary. The appropriate data and manufacturing methods for different PM-steels and PM-aluminium were determined and compared with existing results for cast materials. The pull-out behaviour is defined by the critical depth. For the fatigue behaviour the necessary screwing depth is defined by using metallography. In comparison to cast materials the fatigue strength of PM-materials is higher because of a better stress distribution in the thread.
