Realtime gait phase detection with an inertial measurement unit for lower limb prostheses

Alternative
Echtzeit-Gangphasenerkennung mit einer inertialen Messeinheit für Beinprothesen
Abstract
We achieved a reliable and robust gait phase detection in different environmental conditions like climbing stairs which offers real-time control and adoption of lower limb prostheses systems. Depending on the extracted features the gait phase detection also works on non amputees which extends the range of possible applications. Eventually the system is capable of detecting and distinguishing different types of motion states like sitting, standing, walking etc. permitting even more sophisticated prosthesis control system approaches.
