Titel
An Orthogonal Projection approach for Suppressing Moving Targets in Multi-Channel SAR Images
Abstract
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) as a method for ground imaging is widely used for air- and space-borne remote sensing applications and military reconnaissance tasks. If a multi-channel sensor is used for reception the radar system becomes also capable of detecting ground moving targets by utilizing proper spatio-temporal signal processing. Moving objects are imaged at wrong positions and may appear smeared within a SAR image, which can significantly compromise the image quality. Therefore, an orthogonal projection approach is proposed in this paper that utilizes joint spatio-temporal processing to suppress artifacts in the SAR image caused by object motion in the observed scene. Results obtained with experimental data from the FGAN air-borne system AER-II show the applicability of the presented method.
