Abstract
The method involves determining the coordinates of the output coupling end of the individual fibres. A series of differently structured images (10,11,12) is coupled into the fibre bundle (2). The structures are selected to form zones of different grey values. The grey values emanating from the output coupling ends of the fibres are recorded and used to determine the coordinates of the input end fibres, using the coordinates of the grey value zones. The input coupling coordinates and output coupling coordinates are stored in an association table. ADVANTAGE - Calibration can be performed in less time than with conventional methods and with greater reproducibility.
