Title
Verfahren und Sensor zum Nachweis von Sauerstoff
Other Title
Sensor for detecting oxygen in exhaust gas of internal combustion engine, has device for ozone generation and supplying measuring gas, where oxygen contained in measuring gas is partially converted into ozone detected by ozone sensor
Abstract

DE 102009049908 A1 UPAB: 20110511 NOVELTY - The sensor (1) has a device (50) for ozone generation and supplying a measuring gas. Oxygen contained in the measuring gas is partially converted into ozone by the device. The ozone is detected by an ozone sensor (60) e.g. photometer and/or electrochemical sensor and/or resistance sensor (61). The resistance sensor contains a measuring layer comprising metal oxide i.e. indium oxide. The resistance sensor comprises a radiation source e.g. LED, and electromagnetic radiation with wavelength of smaller than 415 nanometer is produced by the source. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for detecting oxygen in measuring gas. USE - Sensor for detecting oxygen in a measuring gas i.e. exhaust gas, of an internal combustion engine. ADVANTAGE - The oxygen contained in the measuring gas is partially converted into the ozone by the ozone generation device, and the ozone is detected by the ozone sensor, thus regenerating the measuring layer by thermal or photonic stimulated desorption in a simple manner, and hence detecting oxygen with increased sensitivity.
