Abstract
The Investigation of the fatigue behaviour of four stainless steels in the unnotched, notched, coldformed, laser welded and spot welded material state showed, that the fatigue strength was strongly depending on the different material states. On the other hand, the newly derived variable amplitude fatigue data will enable a reduction of wall thickness in future constructions, as the allowable fatigue strength values are significantly higher than in the case of constant amplitude loading.
