Sven Schimpf received the Doctorate degree from the University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany, in 2010. He is currently the Managing Director and coordinates the activities of the Fraunhofer Group for Innovation Research, Stuttgart, and a Professor in innovation and interdisciplinary research with Pforzheim University, Pforzheim, Germany, where he is Member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Human Engineering and Empathic Design. He has been an Interdisciplinary Researcher and Thought Leader with the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Munich, Germany, since 2002. He was involved in numerous national and international research and industrial projects, and is regularly involved in university teaching and evaluation committees of various journals and research funding bodies, especially in the fields of strategic R&D, technology, and innovation management.
