    The paper presents the concept and implementation for Cloud-based Industrial Control Services (CICS) as a next generation PLC. As a distributed service-oriented control system in the cloud, a CICS controller can replace the traditional PLC for applications with uncritical timing in terms of Industry 4.0. The CICS services are programmed to industry standards, pursuant to standard IEC 61131-3, and executed in a CICS runtime in the cloud. This paper gives an overview about the concept and implementation, discusses the results of application examples as well as the evaluation of the operability of a CICS controller.

    Das Forschungsprojekt CICS entwirft eine Referenzarchitektur auf Basis von Web-Technologien für die Realisierung von industriellen Steuerungsprogammen nach IEC61131. Mithilfe von Cloud-Computing soll die nächste Stufe der SPS-Entwicklung als im IP-Netz global verteilte Software forciert werden. Auf der SPS IPC Drives werden als Anwendungsbeispiel zwei redundant aufgebaute Test- und Prüfstationen mit Bestückungsroboter ausgestellt.

    Im Kontext Industrie 4.0 wird Cloud Computing für die Produktion von morgen eine wesentliche Rolle spielen. Der Beitrag gibt deshalb einen Überblick über den aktuellen Stand beim Einsatz und der Entwicklung des Cloud Computing für die Produktionsautomatisierung (Industrial Cloud). Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt des Beitrags sind dabei Anwendungen und Projekte, die sich mit der Verlagerung von Automatisierungsfunktionen aus der Prozessleitebene und Steuerungsebene als Cloud-Dienste in eine Industrial Cloud beschäftigen.
