    The concept of business Process Reengineering with its major characteristics is discussed. Features of processes critical to business sucess are highlighted. A survey among 600 US und EU firms showing how Reengineering affects the key performance indicators like customer satisfaction, quality, productivity, market share, turnover, cycle time und cost is evaluated. A structured approach supporting successful Reeengineering is introduced. Benefits of the IPK methodology of Integrated Enterprise Modelling (IEM) and the tool MOOGO are mentioned. Finally some key factors for sucessful change manangement highlighting the importance of a long-term strategy are given.
