Learning Factory for Circular Economy and the Corporate Environment

Especially in times of dwindling resources, the importance of circular economy continues to grow. Challenges often arise in circular material processing due to a lack of easily accessible information. This information paves the way for a simplified and reliable decision-making process in favor of economic advantages at the end of a product lifecycle. In order to facilitate the required cooperation between all relevant partners of such a sustainable value creation system, awareness must first be raised about the respective needs of all stakeholders and benefits of targeted information sharing. To address this problem, the paper describes a Learning Factory that demonstrates how such a targeted information loop can make the idea of the circular economy technically feasible and enable better use of the advantages of processing residual materials. To be able to display the entire value creation system and the interfaces between its members, the Situation Awareness Monitor developed at Fraunhofer IPK is useda tool that combines information about the company's environment as well as internal information. The Interactive Situation Awareness Monitor is used in this mobile Learning Factory, among other things, as a system for detecting deviations and consequently triggering an order for re-manufactured material. The paper describes the setup of a sustainable value creation systems, the approach of a Learning Factory, supported by the function of the interactive Situation Awareness Monitor in this context.

Das Blue Print Plant Model ist ein integriertes Unternehmensmodell, welches Objekte und deren Parameter einer Fabrik mit Prozessen sowie den Berechnungs- und Auslegungsverfahren verbindet. Dabei werden Partikularmodelle, wie zum Beispiel Wirtschaftlichkeitsanalysen, flexibel eingebunden. Die integrierte Betrachtung unterstützt eine Datendurchgängigkeit, mit der sich Medienbrüche entlang der Planungsphasen reduzieren lassen. Im Beitrag werden Erfahrungen anhand eines Use Cases der diskreten Fertigung dargestellt.

Biological transformation: Principles to enhance holistic production systems

In today's production systems, the digital transformation is fully in progress. But the next evolution step can be seen on the horizon, biological transformation. This means the application of biomimetics principles with the aim of low-effort, resource-saving, reversible and adapted economies. Because of their aim regarding minimization of resource consumption and stability orientation even in turbulent environments, biomimetics principles can contribute to the major challenges of production systems, climate change, environmental protection, as well as the turbulences as generated by globalization and individualization in this paper it is described how biological transformation can contribute to extend and improve holistic production systems. For this purpose, traditional principles of holistic production systems are reflected with the ones coming from digitization and biomimetics.

Blue Print Plant Model. Ein Modell zur Unterstützung des Fabrikplanungsprozesses

In den letzten beiden Dekaden sind die Unsicherheiten und Abhängigkeiten externer Faktoren bei der Fabrikplanung gestiegen. Immer relevanter wird eine Datendurchgängigkeit, die quer zu den Planungsphasen verbessert wird, sodass externe und interne Änderungen sowie deren Auswirkungen auf die Planungsobjekte einfacher und schneller bewertet werden können. In dem Beitrag wird ein Konzept vorgestellt, welches mithilfe eines verteilten digitalen Fabrikzwillings, bereits in der frühen Planungsphase die Durchgängigkeit unterstützt. Die Vernetzung der Komponenten wird durch ein Unternehmensmodell realisiert, das entlang des Fabriklebenszyklus aufgebaut und angewendet wird.

Literature Review of Biological Transformation in Holistic Production Systems

In today’s manufacturing world, there are large, interconnected production networks. Production is constantly influenced by trends such as the Toyota production concept or Holistic Production System. Numerous companies have already introduced a Holistic Production System. Though, to achieve the greatest success with it, the Holistic Production System must be implemented across the entire production network. This means that more and more companies are setting a condition for their suppliers: They must also implement a Holistic Production System. However, not only the introduction but also the maintenance of a Holistic Production System is associated with a high level of effort. To reduce the effort required for a Holistic Production System, Biological Transformation offers a promising approach. Especially since principles from nature are resource-saving. This paper presents a systematic literature review. This review examines the extent to which biological principles are already being used in Holistic Production Systems.

Agiles Prozessmanagement mittels Ambidextrie

Aufgrund der vielfältigen und überlappenden Einflüsse aus dem Unternehmensumfeld (z. B. Pandemie, Chip-Krise, Naturkatastrophen) müssen Entscheidungen sowohl auf Basis von unternehmensinternen Daten (z. B. Liquidität) als auch Umfeldinformationen (z. B. Technologie-trends) getroffen werden. Anschließend sind Maßnahmen abzuleiten und - neben den regulären Unternehmensprozessen - umzusetzen. In diesem Beitrag wird ein Ansatz für die Informationsvernetzung und -bereitstellung für agiles Prozessmanagement vorgestellt.
