The exchange of tools in modem presses can be made using sliding tables. This allows a just-in-time production of sheet metal parts with lower stock keeping. After the tool exchange, the sheet metal parts are of inferior quality. Therefore, a re- adjustment of the machine is necessary which is based on the experience of the employees. The following article offers a solution for speeding up the restart of presses and reducing waste by means of a reproducible quality of the sheet metal parts.
