PublicationMIKADO - Mechatronics cooperation platform for demand-driven verification and diagnosis( 2007)Hayka, H.Today, mechatronic systems decisively enhance the competitiveness of companies in many industrial sectors. Products such as LED rear lights for automobiles or adaptive hearing aids in medical technology are examples for the successful integration of electronics, information technology and mechanics. The objective of combining these different disciplines for the generation of industrial products is to advance the functionality and creative scope of such products. Moreover, the price-performance ratio improves considerably when extensive mechanics is being replaced with intelligent control and feedback control systems. Research engineers at Fraunhofer IPK therefore work on methods and tools for an interdisciplinary cooperative development of mechatronic products.
