More precisely, the format is designed to store representations of reconstructed volumes in three-dimensional computed tomography in a wavelet basis. It is flexible with regards to the choice of wavelets, thresholding techniques, and tiling for large datasets. Based on the netCDF container format, SCR contains the structure of the stored information and in this sense, it is a self-describing format. This manuscript provides a report of the main concepts of SCR, and closes with an overview of possible user-defined extensions.enwaveletsfile formatcompressionDDC::500 Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik::500 Naturwissenschaften::500 Naturwissenschaften und MathematikThe SCR File Formatpaper
