Utz, H.H.Utz2022-03-032022-03-031995https://publica.fraunhofer.de/handle/publica/185912Currently, only limited use of biodegradable plastics for food packaging is possible due to high material cost and insufficient barrier properties against gases, water vapour, and aromas. Primarily starch is used as raw material for biodegradable plastics due to its low cost. Through vacuum coating, the barrier properties of biodegradable films can be improved. Given other obstacles to launching biodegradable packaging in the marketplace in addition to the current low level of development of products, it will be several years before biodegradable plastics play a major role in food packaging.enadditivebarrier propertiesBeschichtungBioabbaubarkeitbiodegradabilitycoatingFestigkeitfoodKunststoffLebensmittelpackagingplasticpolymerSperreigenschaftstarchStärkestrengthVerpackungZusatzstoff664688Biologisch abbaubare Polymere zum Verpacken von LebensmittelnBiodegredable plastics for food packagingjournal article
