It will provide automated emergency call functionality for equipped vehicles using mobile communication. However, we show that the eCall's design has limitations. Therefore, we propose extensions for an emergency message dissemination system. We show that these extensions cannot easily be realized using the eCall's communication facilities and provide a concept using Car-to-Car (C2C) and Car-to-Infrastructure (C2I) communication.
