The industrial transformation process with regard to the focus of the fourth industrial revolution is enlarged in terms of the inquiry of sustainability and especially the circular economy. In particular, external political, economic and environmental factors, but at the same time society changes towards a sustainable mindset of people shape the future development. This article focuses on the question of how to sensitize and qualify employees of manufacturing companies with a serious game to start the preparation of the upcoming challenges regarding sustainable transformation.
