A weak dependence of the conductance on layer thickness and temperature was measured, possibly suggesting transport limited by tunneling through the protein interfaces. Additionally, novel nanofabrication schemes for realizing a gated nanogap device for protein electronics have been explored.enElectron transport in nanoscale bacteriorhodopsin junctionsElektronentransport in nanoskaligen Bacteriorhodopsin-Übergangendoctoral thesis
