During the technological investigations the velocity and impulse force of high-pressure CO2 and water jets were analyzed. Identical cutting tests were carried out with AlMg3. Similarities as well as differences of both fluids are shown in the attained jet impact force, jet velocity, cutting surfaces and notches produced by the jet. The experiments indicate that the velocity of the CO2 jet depends mainly on pressure and nozzle diameter. High-pressure CO2 jet cutting has a high potential in the field of dry and residue-free cutting.en658670High-pressure jet cutting with liquid CO2conference paper
