The 5G-MAG Reference Tools development programme has recently adopted open-source software contributions based on MPEG-I Specifications. In particular reference platforms for the creation and exchange of 3D media content based on the MPEG-I Scene Description standard [1], and for the creation, carriage and playback of MPEG-I volumetric (MPEG-I V3C) [2] video content. These contributions are freely available to the industry to evaluate technologies in real-world applications and open for further improvements and additions.enXRVolumetricImmersiveMPEGScene DescriptionV3CA Comprehensive Suite of Open-Source Reference Tools for MPEG-I Applications: MPEG-I Scene Description and V3C Immersive Platformconference paper
