In this paper a system is described to fulfill these requirements. It is based on a central computer system linking the heterogeneous hosts in a wide area network. The system has two main functions. It provides a transparent transport system for data flow between the hosts and a central database for actual data of the electrical network supporting integrated data acquisition and access of the hosts.
