This paper describes the evelopment of a HVDC-PS providing continuously power up to 120 kV / 100 mA with the added specification that the supply should be scalable to 500 kV / 200 mA by using Insulated Core Transformer (ICT) technology, in order to reduce weight, volume and enable a high degree of integration. The adopted architecture implements a high switching frequency and PCB based secondary windings and rectifiers. A higher power density and therefore smaller power supply volume can be achieved by means of the use of digital control and smart measurement. A prototype, using mostly low cost SMT components which are widely available, was designed.enInsulated Core TransformerElectron AcceleratorTransformerHVPS600 Technik, Medizin, angewandte WissenschaftenDesign of a compact high voltage DC power supply for electron beam applicationsconference paper
