Currently, various proprietary solutions exist for HTTP adaptive streaming, thus a standardized adaptive streaming solution, such as DASH, is needed to unify video delivery across the Internet. We propose a streaming proxy architecture that enables DASH in browser-based environments. This solution enables clients using only the plain HTML5 media element to play DASH-compatible content. Advantages and limitations of this solution will be discussed based on usage scenarios.enDASHclientbrowseradaptive streaminglegacyproxyHTML5progressive download004HTTP adaptive streaming: MPEG-DASH proxy for legacy HTML5 clientsconference paper
