Biographical Information
Robin Day, born in 1989, studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, specializing in "Design and construction of Aerospace Vehicles" and "Drive and Energy Systems in Aerospace engineering". He graduated with a Master of Sciene in 2016.
During his studies Robin worked for Lufthansa Technik in Frankfurt, N3 Engine Over-haul Services in Erfurt and Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth. Prior to his further scien-tific career he was interim CEO of the general aviation maintenance facility Aircraft Ser-vice in Mainz. In 2017 he continued to deepen his knowledge in additive manufacturing, especially in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), as a PhD Student at the RWTH Aachen University Chair for Digital Additive Production.
Since 2020 Robin heads the department of Directed Energy Manufacturing at the Fraun-hofer Institute for Production Technology IPT Aachen Germany.
