Title
Production ramp-up in discrete manufacturing systems: a systematic literature review of modelling methods
Abstract
Production ramp-up management is becoming increasingly complex due to shorter product lifecycles driven by customization demand and technological development. Production system dynamics and instability during ramp-up complicate monitoring and predicting the impact of decisions to meet defined targets. In this paper, a systematic literature review is conducted to provide an overview of the current state of modelling methods for ramp-up management in discrete multi-stage manufacturing systems. The review identifies and categorizes preventive and reactive modelling approaches on this topic and provides future research directions.
