Abstract
The scenario method ensures medium- to long-term investment decisions. It maps a future space in which future conditions such as different energy price levels and development trends act consistently with each other. Regarding an use case with a local heat network with a CHP and heat storages, we develop three core-scenarios for 2035 and 2045. Each scenario consists of the same amount of key factors, each is assigned with one of up to three possible future projections. These projections are transferred to an optimisation model of the energy system. The model determines the optimal plant operation for each scenario. The comparison of the optimisation results shows how the CHP local heat network performs under changing framework conditions.
