Title
Universal Resolver for Trust Registries in Decentralized Identity ecosystems
Abstract
The rapid growth of decentralized identity ecosystems has led to fragmented trust management infrastructures that lack seamless interoperability. Current trust registry protocols, while innovative, exhibit significant limitations in supporting holistic identity validation across diverse domains. This paper analyzes four approaches—ToIP Trust Registry Query Protocol (TRQP), European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) Trust Model, OpenID Federation, and Trust mAnagement INfrastructure (TRAIN)—identifying critical gaps in interoperability, governance, and validation capabilities. We propose a trust registries universal resolver that addresses these limitations through a multi-layered architecture supporting dynamic trust resolution, validation across cross-domains and comprehensive governance frameworks. Our approach enables truly reusable digital identities by providing unified trust resolution and validation across heterogeneous registry systems while maintaining sovereignty and compliance requirements.
