(Technologie-)Roadmapping in Forschungsorganisationen

Das Roadmapping gilt als universelles, leistungsfähiges Instrument der strategischen (Technologie-)Planung, welches jedoch für seinen Einsatzzweck angepasst werden muss. Der vorliegende Beitrag thematisiert die Anwendung des Roadmapping für Forschungsorganisationen. Nach einer Beschreibung der Besonderheiten der Langfristplanung für diesen Organisationstyp, wird die Anwendung des Roadmapping in einer Forschungsorganisation beschrieben. Ausgehend vom „T-Plan“-Roadmapping-Konzept werden Modifikationen und Lösungsansätze vorgestellt, die die spezifischen Herausforderungen des Roadmapping in der vorgestellten Forschungsorganisationen adressieren. Hierbei wird auf die Erfahrungen zurückgegriffen, die bei der Erstellung von drei „Pilot-Roadmaps“ in insgesamt 14 Workshops gemacht wurden.

Technology roadmapping is considered a universal, yet powerful instrument for technology planning. However, it has to be adapted for its intended use. This paper addresses the application of roadmapping in research organizations. After explaining some of the particularities of long-term planning within this type of organizations, the application of the roadmapping process is described in more detail. For this purpose, the ‘T-Plan’ roadmapping approach, a widely known roadmapping concept, is used and modified to address the specific needs of the research organization. The modifications are based on the experience drawn from the creation of three ‘pilot roadmaps’ over the course of 14 workshops.
