Title
Untersuchungen zum DC FRT in einem Multi-Terminal Hub-System
Abstract
The urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the increasing use of renewable energy sources, especially offshore wind farms, requires the development of robust and efficient power transmission systems. High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission technology in conjunction with multi-terminal hub systems offers a promising solution for the reliability and stability of such systems. In this article and as part of the collaboration with the grid operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) investigates the effects of various system parameters, such as the inductance of fault separation devices (FSDs), time of short-circuit occurrence and reverse power flow direction on the blocking time of modular multilevel converters (MMC).
