Title

Digital Representation and Networking of NDE Information and Systems

Abstract
The digital transformation demands significant adaptation of NDE systems to meet growing integration and interoperability needs. Historically, systems were limited to simple commands and status displays. Now, complete digital representation is essential, including detailed descriptions of sub-elements, parameter sets, and results. This approach reduces misinterpretations and enhances data maintenance, requiring standardized structure and digital availability. Developing a flexible data model that adapts to specific NDE system and dataset requirements is crucial, allowing for future expansion. Technological advancements, especially through standards like OPC UA and the Asset Administration Shell, facilitate seamless networking and secure information exchange in IIoT environments. This manuscript explores technical challenges, solutions, and initial implementations for digitally representing and networking NDE information within a data ecosystem.
