Die additive Fertigung liefert Sonderbauteile in großer Form- und Variantenvielfalt. Die druckrauen Oberflächen müssen jedoch – häufig manuell – nachbearbeitet werden, um höchste mechanische Eigenschaften zu erreichen. Im Rahmen dieses Beitrags wird überprüft, inwieweit sich das automatisierbare Gleitschleifen für die Nachbearbeitung von additiv gefertigten Bauteilen eignet und welche Herausforderungen dabei zukünftig zu lösen sind.

The additive manufacturing process provides unique components in various forms and variants. However, it is mostly necessary for the „as build“ surface to be finished with the help of manual processes and accomplish the highest material properties. This article will check to what extent the automatable barrel finishing is suitable for the surface finishing of additive-manufactured components and which challenges there will be in the future.
