Challenges and Lessons Learned for Industry Transfer of DPP Solutions

Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are currently an important topic across various industries. New regulations, such as the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the EU End-of-Life vehicles regulation, mandate them to support transparency for sustainable decision-making. The German research project Catena-X has developed a solution and guidelines for automotive data spaces that are currently analyzed for transferability into other industries under the umbrella of the initiative Manufacturing-X. This paper will address the challenges and lessons learned from transferring DPP solutions into the aerospace industry.
