Abstract
This Special Issue reprint, "Applied Artificial Intelligence for Industrial Nondestructive Evaluation" (NDE4.0), brings together a curated selection of research articles that demonstrate the growing role of artificial intelligence in enhancing industrial reliability and safety. Motivated by the increasing complexity of materials, processes, and inspection environments, this reprint addresses how intelligent systems, particularly machine learning and deep learning, can support and advance nondestructive evaluation methods.
This collection aims to provide insight into state-of-the-art techniques and practical applications, where AI enables faster, more accurate, and scalable detection of defects. It is intended for researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and academic audiences interested in the intersection of AI and industrial inspection technologies.
As Guest Editors, we thank all contributing authors for their valuable work and collaboration, and we express our gratitude to the reviewers and editorial team at Applied Sciences for their support in bringing this reprint to completion.
