Title
The Challenge of Integrating Multi-sectorial Requirements in Dissimilar Industrial Pilots
Abstract
Research projects collaborating with various partners from different sectors often face the challenge of trying to build one system architecture with very different sets of requirements. This paper will present different ways of current requirements engineering from existing methodologies and the developed approach for one specific project. Drawing inspiration from existing methodologies, the approach aims to address the complexities of combining system elements across diverse pilot activities as well as formalized requirements modeling, incorporating temporal logics and other formalisms, and the need for adaptable, data-driven requirements engineering. The outlined approach involves user stories, integration into modeling tools, and iterative requirement refinement. Challenges include resource-intensive model setup and the integration of distinct pilot requirements. The paper concludes with an evaluation of the broader needs and challenges and further development needs in requirements engineering associated with managing distributed requirements in collaborative research endeavors spanning multiple sectors.
