The Single Digital Gateway Regulation: Lessons from Implementation in Five EU Countries

The vision of a single digital gateway for administrative services in the EU is set to become a reality through the Single Digital Gateway Regulation. Despite substantial efforts and the successful fulfilment of individual requirements, no EU Member State managed to fully implement the regulation by the deadline at the end of 2023. Our White Paper examines the implementation of the regulation in Germany as well as other EU countries and identifies organisational challenges and solutions. Building on these, we offer pragmatic recommended actions - not only for closing the remaining gaps in the SDG Regulation, but also for the implementation of future plans and large-scale projects.
