Title

Laser Threshold Magnetometry

Title Supplement
A path to ultrasensitive magnetic field sensors based on nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond
Abstract
Quantum sensors are promising new ways of highly sensitive measurements with significantly improved conditions, such as room temperature operation. Particularly, nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond have been the most widely employed quantum systems for a variety of sensing applications, particularly the detection of magnetic fields. Here we show the recent and rapid development of a fundamentally new approach for significantly improving the sensitivity of NV center sensing by using nitrogen-vacancy centers as a laser medium.
