Encoding and decoding of audio signals

Abstract
The present techniques relate to encoding and decoding an audio signal, e.g. applied to encoders, decoders, methods for encoding or decoding, and non-transitory storage units that control the encoding or decoding. For example, the present techniques refer to mapping and/or resampling of innovative codebook. An apparatus for generating a decoded audio signal divided into a plurality of frames or subframe may comprise: a coded signal reader (722) configured to read at least, from a coded signal (124), coded information on prediction coefficients (105') and coded information (119) on at least one pulse; a signal processor (703) configured to generate the decoded audio signal (702) from at least a decoded version (704) of the prediction coefficients and a decoded pulse combination (710), or the processed version thereof, wherein the decoded audio signal (702) is generated at a first sampling, the first sampling implying, in one frame or subframe, a first plurality of sample positions having a first number of sample positions; wherein the apparatus is configured to derive (716) the decoded pulse combination (710) from the coded information (119) on the at least one pulse and a second-sampling codebook (118), wherein the at least one second-sampling codebook (118) contains a set of pulse combinations defined at a second sampling, the second sampling implying, in the frame or subframe, a second plurality of sample positions having a second number of sample positions, wherein the first sampling is different from the second sampling at least in that the first plurality of sample positions is different from the second plurality of sample positions.
