Title
A handheld multisensory scanner system with real-time mapping and data processing for building survey applications
Abstract
The concept of a handheld multisensory scanner system aimed at addressing the rising demand for efficient and accurate building survey applications, as well as measurement data obtained by a prototype of the scanner is presented. Designed to function effectively in indoor and outdoor environments, the scanner captures comprehensive building information through various sensors. Central to its operation is a Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm, which enables real-time mapping of the environment, while semantic segmentation allows for the classification of different elements within the scanned area. Additionally, the system incorporates user feedback mechanisms to provide immediate insights into data quality, enhancing decision-making during the surveying process. The precise geometric data generated by this system is essential for applications including facade renovation and insulation design. This approach aims to enhance data collection accuracy and refine existing methodologies, contributing to the necessary digitization within the building sector.
