Das ist also KI! Einordnung des Begriffs zwischen KI-Effekt und Datensouveränität

Other Title
So that‘s What AI Is! The Classification of the Term between the AI Effect and Data Sovereignty
Abstract
The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has undergone a remarkable technological metamorphosis over the past seven decades. From rudimentary chess computers to advanced language models like ChatGPT, this evolution exemplifies the "AI effect": technological innovations are rapidly taken for granted after their establishment.
The core application fields of AI - machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics – have accelerated digital transformation and induced a fundamental change in societal information and knowledge structures.
In specific domains like monument conservation, AI opens up innovative perspectives: Image processing techno¬logies enable precise damage analyses, sensor technologies are optimising preventive maintenance strategies, and advanced OCR systems are revolutionising historical document research.
ChatGPT‘s "iPhone moment" in 2023 symbolises technological dynamics while also generating complex challenges: The energy-intensive training of large language models increasingly requires high-quality data. Simultaneously, the concept of digital data sovereignty is gaining signi¬ficance. It is becoming crucial to protect sensitive data, establish ethical guidelines, and develop a balanced rela¬tionship between technological progress and responsible data management.
