Title

GIS-Based Evaluation of Suitability and Implementation Prospects for Solar PV Energy in Africa

Abstract
This study presents a new method to analyze the potential for solar PV energy in Africa with detailed 50 by 50 meter resolution based on more than 30 specific criteria. It offers an extensive overview of solar PV capabilities in African countries that are close to existing high-voltage powerlines and have abundant solar resources. Additionally, it recommends future research to investigate Power-to-X production possibilities and a more detailed comparison of the evaluated countries. This approach aids in advancing the understanding of renewable energy solutions and encourages further studies in this field.
