Setting the Stage for Agents’ Cooperation: Digital Twin Family as Framework for Systems Integration

Abstract
Given present conditions of VUCA and BANI, production systems face frequent shifts in requirements, demanding efficient processing to maintain flexible. Production control, pivotal in such systems, navigates diverse target conflicts, requiring mutual representation of agent properties, targets, and conditions for joint optimization and self-reconfiguration. Dynamic representation of current information is essential, with Digital Twin technology showing promise. However, practical implementation often falters due to differing understandings and capabilities. Our work aims to propose a framework for designing and implementing specific, deliberate sets of networked Digital Twins, systematically analyzing existing concepts for integration, primarily through the Digital Twin Family approach.
