Abstract
Time Taggers are high-precision stopwatches for electronic signals, utilized in a range of applications that demand accurate time measurements. These applications include emerging technologies such as Quantum Computing and Quantum Communication. In this presentation, we will give an overview of typical performance metrics, with a specific emphasis on Single Shot Precision, commonly referred to as 'jitter'. We will explain how measurement curves can be 'smoothed', outline the difference between single and cross-channel jitter, and highlight potential pitfalls in practical measurement. This knowledge enables customers to make informed decisions when selecting time-tagging devices for their specific quantum application.
