Erforschen der Aortenklappenstenose im mikrophysiologischen System

Calcific aortic valve disease results in stenosis and patient death if aortic valve (AV) is not replaced by prosthesis. Since conventional 2D valve cell cultures and animal models that, hardly reflect the human situation, are limited, the development of an AV microphysiological tissue culture system offering the possibility to also implement human AV tissue is aim of the research. Monitoring the tissue viability, ECM remodelling and marker expression also for long time culture periods is therefore essential.
