Title

Reduktion der Evapotranspiration durch Agri-Photovoltaik

Abstract
To achieve the national and international climate protection goals, the agricultural and energy sectors must develop towards a sustainable system that is adapted to impact of climate change. For this purpose, Germany's first agrivoltaic pilot plant was built in Heggelbach in 2016 as part of the APV-RESOLA research project (FKZ: 033L098AN). The Fraunhofer ISE monitored the technical unit and the University of Hohenheim collected data of crop development and microclimatic during this research project. In order to complete the existing research on the microclimate and the potential synergy effects through shading, the collected data was used in this study to quantify the influence of agrivoltaics on evapotranspiration. The analysis of the results clearly shows that evapotranspiration can also be reduced in humid climates by installing agrivoltaic systems. It also shows that the reduction in evapotranspiration is very dependent on the crops. The strongest decline with a total of -23.38% can be observed in the potato field, followed by clover grass with -15.34%, celery with -14.45% and winter wheat, with a significantly smaller decrease of -9.57%.
