Abstract
For an efficient operation of fluid based sensible heat storages a pronounced temperature stratification must be achieved. With coupled heat and flow simulations charging systems can be designed for an optimized stratification. In this presentation, investigations of a storage system with directly coupled heat pumps are presented and optimization possibilities are derived.
