Title

Integration of renewable energy by distributed energy storages

Abstract
Variable Renewable Energies (VRE) are challenging for electric grids. Distributed electrical and thermal energy storages, offer the opportunity to balance the electric grid directly and indirectly, respectively. As other balancing options like Demand-Side-Management and curtailment, they offer individual advantages and disadvantages. The assessment of distributed energy storages for integration of VRE and an overview of different possible applications will be discussed in following article.
