Highly Compact 250 kVA Inverter Stack with 3.3 kV SiC MOSFETs

Abstract
This paper presents a 250 kVA three-level Active Neutral Point Clamped (ANPC) inverter stack with 3.3 kV SiC MOSFET modules for feeding into a 3 kV medium voltage grid. The high switching frequency of 16 kHz and the use of an active fluid cooling system with a synthetic ester lead to high power density.
