Optimization of a Parametric Fundamental Model for Unit Commitment Modeling

Die Strompreisprognose ist ein wichtiges Werkzeug für Marktteilnehmer am Strommarkt zur Optimierung ihrer Handelsentscheidungen. Strompreisprognosen basieren auf Modellen, die den Strommarkt möglichst genau abbilden. Ein Modellansatz sind die Fundamentalmodelle (FM). Diese stellen hohe Anforderungen and die verwendeten Eingangsdaten. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ein bestehender Ansatz zur Erhöhung der Modellgenauigkeit von FM insbesondere bei geringer Eingangsdatenqualität erweitert und untersucht. Der bestehende Ansatz, bei dem die Eingangsdaten mithilfe eines Parametersets optimiert wurden, wurde dazu um den Aspekt der multiplen Parametersets für verschiedene Situationen erweitert.

The electricity price forecast is an important tool for market participants in the electricity market to optimize their trading decisions. Electricity price forecasts are based on models that map the electricity market as precisely as possible. One modeling approach are the fundamental models (FM). These place high demands on the input data used. In the present work, an existing approach to increase the model accuracy of FM, especially with poor input data quality, is expanded and examined. The existing approach, in which the input data was optimized with the help of a single parameter set, was expanded to include the aspect of multiple parameter sets for different situations.
