Abstract
This paper introduces the new AIMATS methodology for accidents at intersections. Compared to the extensive state of the art NDS studies this method allows the efficient investigation of critical scenarios. The first results for the major part of the algorithm: selection of points of interest, scenario recording, automated data processing and the selection of critical scenarios are discussed for a pilot study. The method shows promising results for intersection scenarios.
